Abstract

The following article proposes a model of urban public spaces functionality and functions evaluation, based on eight basic and two additional functions, which include the following ones: communicational, transitional, activities implementation, different needs satisfaction, aesthetic, recreational, educational, symbolic, temporal and narrative functions. Developing such model may provide better understanding of urban physiology and probably set the first point for new types of planning in future, based on spaces functionality, such as temporal city planning.
