Logic and Existential Quantifier

Abstract

For many philosopher, the existential quantifier is associated with ontological commitments. In this paper, I explore the relation between the logical quantifier and its ontological interpretation. I'll explain various ways this relationship has been historically understood. At the end, I'll try to illustrate contemporary concerns about this relationship.
