Abstract

The article deals on how St. Augustine reached the conviction that it is convenient to believe in God, in what the author calis the «Proto-Confessions». It presents also why is it convenient to believe in contrast with the false Manichaeans promises. Also some parts of the profession of faith, as they are presented in util. cred. are underlined. The apologetical reasons of why it is convenient to believe, such as St. Augustine presents them in util. cred. are also discussed in the article.
