Abstract

History of modern research has focused on the past history of modern summary of lessons learned at the same time closely linked with the modern reality of the process. The early 21st century East Asia and the world than the great changes had taken place. Study the new situation should be more modern grand vision, more broad-minded; more empirical research should be more "problem" and less about some "ism"; should be innovative, and something beyond, have interrupted the development of modern , a summary of frustration and failure, including the "modern" itself criticism and reflection, even within the anti-modern world thought the collation and research. A historical study of Modernization focuses on how the modernization experiences yesterday can be a good reference for today's modernization process. In the context of 21st century, however, when East Asia and the whole world changed remarkably, our modernization study should increase its openness and pay more attention to the positive issues rather than the so called grand narratives. It should appreciate innovation and surpassing, and in doing so, it must evaluate the failures in the past as well as keep a critical mind to modernization itself, or even give a good calculation to all the anti-modernization trends world wide
