Abstract

O longo debate provocado pelo Cisma do Ocidente propiciou um profícuo aprofundamento de alguns conceitos próprios da filosofia política, que, ainda que no marco da filosofia medieval, oferece elementos que serão fundamentais para o desenvolvimento da filosofia política moderna. Neste artigo, estudaremos a contribuição dado por João Gerson a esse debate, sobretudo relativa aos conceitos de lei natural, regimes de governo e divisão de poderes.
