Abstract

Personal causality must be studied in the broad contexto of causality in general. Over hislifetime Zubiri’s thought on the subject matured. In this paper we study the chronologicaldevelopment of Zubiri’s theory of causality and personal causality. Until the publication ofEstructura dinámica de la realidad [The Dynamic Structure of Reality, tr. 2005] therewas no systematic analysis of the topic by Zubiri. This work does not just cover causalityin the world, but also studies divine and personal causality—a subject treated at length inEl hombre y Dios [Man and God, tr. 2009]. In Zubiri’s major work Inteligencia sentiente [Sentient Intelligence, tr. 1999] he presents the basis for the study of causality from his noological perspective.La causalidad personal ha de estudiarse en el más amplio contexto de la causalidad encuanto tal. Zubiri ha evolucionado en el modo de conceptuarla. En la primera parte estudiamos el desarrollo diacrónico de su teoría. Hasta su obra Estructura dinámica de la realidad no habrá un estudio sistemático de este tema. No abarca solamente la causalidad intramundana, sino que estudia también la causalidad personal divina; esta se desarrolla bien en El hombre y Dios .
