Abstract

Abstract: This paper shows part of Peter van Inwagen’s propagation of contemporary metaphysics. We will demonstrate some of the author’s arguments and his respective analyses on validating the dualist argument, among them the comparison between two important and different dualisms, especially Descartes’ and Leibniz's. We will see that van Inwagen’s review points out problems in both arguments. Van Inwagen's review points out problems in both arguments. Finally, it sheds much light on the problem of the representation of mental phenomena versus physical representations, which explains an important aspect that contributes to the emergence of the mind-body problem.
