Opportunities to use national and movement games in physical education and athletics

Abstract

Strengthening muscles and connective tissues with strength training offers a means to increase the forces they are capable of sustaining and helps to make the young player more resistant to soft-tissue injury. In adolescents particularly, it is important to strengthen these connective tissues to accommodate the rapid gains in strength and body mass that occur during puberty.
