Distinctiveness Of The Russian Philosophy. Toward A Typological And Cultural Characterization
Abstract
This paper is an attempt to capture the uniqueness of the Russian philosophy by means of a cultural and typological characterization. Three proposed basic criteria are employed to explain the ways of development of the Russian thought and the modes of formation of its distinctive identity. It is argued that despite its ties with the Western thought and culture, the Russian philosophy remains a phenomenon in its own right, whose distinctiveness is a result of the separateness of the Russian civilisational, cultural and religious experience.
