Abstract

This essay shows the Raymond Aron’s theory of Industrial society in a coherent and organic way. It particularly points out the links between the author’s philosophical theory of history and his political and sociological positions during the period of the Cold War. The concept of the «autonomy of political», and the related theory of the «primacy of political», must be considered as the logic consequences of his reflections about conditions and limits of historical and social knowledge
