Abstract

The dual system of initial vocational training is the most popular post-compulsory course in Switzerland. In-company trainers play a central role in the management of apprentices. Few studies have focused on these actors. In this contribution, the focus is on the recognition of their training function. The results of a doctoral thesis on these trainers are based on qualitative and typological analyses and will be linked to ideal-typical trainer profiles. This will highlight the diversity of the (non-)recognition of this training activity and its challenges.
