Physicalism and fundamental mentality

Abstract

According to Jessica M. Wilson, physicalism is incompatible with the existence of fundamental mentality. Although widely endorsed, this No Fundamental Mentality constraint faces serious challenges, including alleged counterexamples. In this paper, I clarify the constraint, defend it against objections, and explain its basis.
