Abstract
The Board of Directors of the Journal of the History of Philosophy is pleased to announce the establishment of the Kristeller-Popkin Travel Fellowships as part of the 40th anniversary of the founding of the Journal. The fellowships are in recognition of the scholarship and generous support that two of the founding members of the Board have given to the Journal: Paul Oskar Kristeller, the renowned Renaissance scholar, and Richard H. Popkin, the first editor of the Journal and noted historian of skepticism. Two awards of $1000 will be offered annually to young scholars in the history of philosophy to defray expenses incurred while traveling to do research. Candidates should have received their Ph.D. no more than six years prior to applying. Application forms can be obtained beginning January 1, 2002 from the JHP website or by writing to Professor Martha Bolton, Department of Philosophy, Davison Hall, Douglass College, Rutgers University, New Brunswick, NJ 08901–2882. The first deadline for applications is December 31, 2002. Awards will be announced in April 2003.
